Senior Chalet Host - Les Gets - Ski Season 2017-18.

Mountain and Tradition is a small independent chalet company run in resort by owners Jana and Raphael. In addition to our four catered chalets, we also run a chalet meal delivery service called Chalet Kitchen, bringing our chalet food to people who have rented their own self-catered accommodation.

Supervising our flagship luxury chalet in the centre of Les Gets, you will be responsible for ensuring a first-class guest experience. This the top-rated Les Gets chalet on TripAdvisor, and you will be tasked with keeping it that way.

In addition to anticipating and meeting all the needs of our luxury chalet guests, your responsibilities will include cleaning and serving. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting and supervising our junior chalet host in the chalet. On Wednesdays, when there is no evening meal service, you will be in sole charge of this flagship chalet.

Seeking Chalet Hosts - Morzine

Host Savoie is seeking highly-motivated and dedicated people to fill a variety of chalet roles this coming winter season in Morzine (French Alps). We are a small and friendly chalet operator that is still run by its owners, and nothing but extra-mile service is good enough for our loyal guests. There are few better places to spend a winter season than the fabulous Portes du Soleil and by working as part of a small team of 11 your efforts will be both recognised and rewarded. Exceptional candidates with a ‘work hard play hard’ attitude will spend 5 months creating a lifetime of memories.

What We Are Looking For

There are two Chalet Host positions available, based in different chalets. The first is for Chalet Chery, sleeping a maximum of 16 but averaging 10 during the season. This Chalet Host will be working alongside a full time Chalet Assistant. The second Host is for Chez Claude, sleeping a maximum of 13 but averaging 7-8 people during the season. This Chalet Host will be working with the help of Chalet Assistant or a Resort Support team member on changeover days and for larger groups.

You will be responsible for a chalet and for the preparation and service of breakfast and evening meals 6 days a week. You will be required to shop to a budget, cook delicious hearty meals with fresh local produce, keep your chalet spotlessly clean and comply with local hygiene laws.

The following characteristics are vital for the position of Chalet Host:

  • You need to be a competent and experienced cook with experience in a commercial catering environment. However, formal cookery qualifications are not essential.
  • A keen eye for detail and pride in a job well done.
  • An ability to work well alone or with others, communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • A determination to prioritise customer service with a smile ahead of your own free time.

You will be the main point of contact for guests at Chalet Thalassa and will be expected to represent the company impeccably, even when meeting and greeting late arrivals or saying goodbye to early departures!

With responsibility for disseminating information to other staff members, accurate record keeping and customer account payments (bar and ski hire sales) the ideal candidate needs to be organised, meticulous and methodical. Some bookkeeping and/or administrative experience would be beneficial.

  • Experience in customer facing roles (ideally within the hospitality industry).

Chef - Meribel
1 Position

Avery Crest operate 2 luxury chalets in Meribel in very prestigious locations. We are now looking for our team for next winter season and are seeking highly trained and experienced members to join the team.

The Avery Crest team is a small close knit team and as a member of the team you will need to be a team player. The chef must be willing to assist the hosts when needed and vice versa. The driver must be happy to help in the chalets where needed also. It is essential all members of the team have bright, sunny personalities and have the same end goal: To provide a 5* luxury experience to the guests. There is plenty of ski time in these roles, but only if everyone works together to get jobs finished each day.

What We Are Looking For

The chef is solely responsible for the food offering in the chalet and is expected to run each week from the bones of a set weekly menu (all designed by the chef) and then adapt the menu each week to the guest requests and requirements. The chef will make a pre arrival call to the lead guest to go through the menu and send a final menu for confirmation before the guests arrive in to resort.

You will be serving a cold continental and hot breakfast, buffet lunch (Left each day for the guests– not served), afternoon tea with sweet and savoury options and 6 course evening meal (Canapes,Starter, Main Course, Cheese, Dessert and petit fours)

The chef will also be responsible for shopping, cleaning, accounts and assisting in the smooth and happy running of the chalet.

To be successful in the position you must have excellent attention to detail and be passionate about the food you are serving to the guests. You must be able to work from a budget, which means putting a menu together that enable you to have as little wastage as possible, as well as creating varied meals with the WOW factor

You MUST be comfortable being front of house and actively conversing with the guests and assisting the hosts in giving the guests a 5* experience.

An interest in wine and wine pairing is an advantage

What We Are Looking For

The hosts are responsible for the food service and overall cleanliness and presentation of the chalets as well as ensuring the guests have a wonderful holiday.

The host will serve breakfast and dinner and ensure all bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas are spotlessly clean and presented beautifully.

Before dinner, as well as setting the table you still need to be able to host the guests. That means making them drinks, getting them things they need, conversing with them if required and generally ensuring they are receiving a 5* experience.

The host will serve drinks to the table and must be confident in suggesting a wine to go with the dinner (Training in wine matching is given) this involves telling the guests about the wine.

The host will also be required to book restaurants and organise massages for the guests when needed..

To be successful in the position you will need to have (and demonstrate) a high attention to detail- noticing a mug where it shouldnt be, remembering how someone takes their tea, ensuring the dining table is laid beautifully and everything is sparkling. You need to be able and willing to go the extra mile for guests and consistently exceed their expectations

Organisation is key in the host role. Your back of house area needs to be clean and spotless at all times as well as the front of house area. You need to be organised and meticulous, especially with the linen and laundry. You are required to count the laundry out when you send it and in when you receive and also keep on top of any missing or stained laundry and fix these issues in a timely manner.

You must also have extremely high standards when it comes to cleaning and you MUST be a morning person. Working in a chalet means early starts and from the word go you must look presentable, be sparkly and be able to hold a bright conversation

The Resort Assistant role is a mixed role of driving guests to and from the slopes and shops and basic maintenance on the chalet as well as maintaining the hot tubs, hammams and ensuring the cleanliness of the outside areas and snow clearing.

You will need to have experience driving a 9 seater minibus, ideally in snowy conditions. You must have worked in a front of house position and be comfortable conversing with guests as well as having some maintenance experience.

You must also be happy cleaning and serving food. You will be required to cover breakfast on the chalet days off – serving breakfast and assisting in cleaning the chalet as well as the expectation that you will be the first person asked if sickness cover is needed.

You are also the assistant to the chalet teams and you will be required to help the chalet teams where necessary in ensuring they are able to provide a 5* experience to the guests. This could be: Assisting the chefs with their shopping, helping the hosts with changeover day cleaning, assisting in the champagne and canape serving before dinner, assisting with childrens high tea etc

Requirements

Job Description:

Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to work and ski/snowboard in one of the best ski areas in the world? We are looking for enthusiastic, fun and friendly people to run our cafe and grilled cheese sandwich shop in Tignes. In return for your hard work you can spend up to 4 days a week on the mountain, with the occasional staff ski day and free lessons with our partner ski school.

You will be part of a small team in a busy environment, serving a range of food and drinks freshly prepared daily in the open kitchen.

Your duties will include food preparation, coffee making, serving tables and maintaining a clean environment for customers. You will also be responsible for maintaining high levels of food hygiene complying with regulations.

You will be joining a well established and experienced team who thrive off the excitement of living in the mountains. The company is entering its 10th year, each year we strive for great service for our clients and a fun work environment for our team. The team is small and is lead by manager Sara, who has over 7 years experience in Tignes. All of our staff accommodation is very well situated in Tignes Le Lac or Le Lavachet just a few minutes walk to and from the pistes and bars.

Along with the vast range of skiing Tignes has to offer, there is a wide range of sports facilities available including; Indoor climbing, swimming, badminton, trampolining and football.

Requirements

  • Applicants should be friendly and confident, prepared and committed for hard work.
  • You must hold an EU passport, a UK bank account, a UK residential address and permanent UK national insurance number.
  • Previous cooking experience or catering qualifications are essential.
  • Previous experience of working a ski season would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Basic French language skills and an interest in developing spoken French are important.
  • Full training is provided.

We are a small independent chalet company, offering fully catered and self-catered ski holidays in the snow-sure resort of Tignes.

Our chalets in Tignes are situated in the villages; Le Lac, Le Lavachet, Val Claret and Les Brevieres. Ride one ski-lift to access the slopes of Val d'Isere, a world famous resort which combined with Tignes makes up the huge area of the Espace Killy.

The couple will work alongside another chalet host as we hire 3 people per chalet to provide the best service to our guests but to also make sure you get plenty of time up on the mountain. One member of the couple must have professional experience as a chef or previous experience in a professional kitchen, you must be able to cook to a high-end standard. Clients return to us year on year expecting the same level of service we have been providing over the last eleven years.

The chalet host will be responsible for serving exceptional food, the daily running and the cleanliness of the chalet. A high standard of cleanliness, organization and attention to detail is required. Alongside all your main duties as chalet host there will be other things expected of you by the guests. They'll expect you to be bright &smiley even when you’re not feeling 100%, they'll expect you to have exciting & interesting anecdotes to tell them at any time of day or night; a can-do attitude is a must have for this role.Customer Service experience for both applicants is essential!

RushAdventures is a small privately owned Chalet company in Les Gets, situated in the massive Portes du Soleil ski region in France. These positions are all based in our Chalets in Les Gets, France. Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include all operational aspects of running a catered chalet and providing a high quality service. You must ensure that our high standards, procedures and company image are maintained at all times. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the chalet and providing all meals six days per week. Meals consist of breakfast, afternoon tea, children’s high teas and a three course dinner (taking into account any special requirements such as vegetarian meals and food allergies). Your role includes:

  • Help to set up and close down the chalet at the start and end of the season
  • Presenting all meals in a careful and imaginative way
  • Serving, clearing away and washing up after each meal service
  • Planning and shopping for food within set budgets
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the chalet on changeover day and throughout the week
  • Ensure that excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
  • Collect guests lift passes and take guests to lessons/ski hire shop on their first day
  • Organise laundry for collection / return
  • Socialising with guests before and after dinner service

Skills and Experience Required:

You need to be a well presented, fun and sociable person who is highly organised and adaptable with excellent communication, hospitality, cooking and customer service skills. You need to be 21yrs + as you may be required to drive our company vehicles. You should ideally have at least 4 weeks ski/snowboarding experience. You will need to have experience cooking for groups.

  • You will be our key intermediary between guests. Your role is to facilitate an enjoyable and smooth guest experience and to generate sales and revenue for the company.
