Driver / Flexi-Host Team Member

In this role, you will be the friendly face of our food delivery service and a key player on the busy changeover day each weekend. A can-do attitude with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done will go a long way in this role. If that sounds like you, we really want to hear from you.

Introduction to the Role

Driver/Delivery:

Every morning you will deliver food to our Chalet Kitchen guests in Les Gets (20km/13mile radius). For these guests, you will be the face of Chalet Kitchen. You will also deliver food and supplies to our chalets and be responsible for the maintenance and storage of our supplies. For deliveries, your average working day will start at 5am and finish around 11am. Evening deliveries will sometimes also be required.

Host:

You will be responsible for a change over in one of our chalets. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and general cleanliness of this chalet. Please note, a lot of cleaning will be required. You may also be responsible for the guest's meals (Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner). Our central kitchen will prepare the more complicated parts (for example, main courses, desserts and cakes), and you will reheat, add on the simpler parts, and serve.

Your working week, throughout the ski season, will vary but on average it will work out at 40 hours.

Certain weeks will be busier than others :
  • General training and setup will take place over the first 2 weeks
  • Christmas week and New Year's week will be very busy
  • January will be quieter and your ski time will increase
  • February is the busiest month. The skills you have learned, in the previous months, will benefit you most during this time
  • March and April will be quieter
  • Chalet packing and cleanup will take place over the final week

Job Description

You will be in charge of the delivery of food and supplies to our own chalets as well as food to Chalet Kitchen guests.

You will co-ordinate with our manager, who will oversee your duties and responsibilities

You will look after the cleanliness and tidiness of our vehicles. You will also be responsible for any non-accidental damage caused to the vehicle while you are in charge of it (e.g scratches or other damage caused by negligence, carelessness or inattention)

You will be expected to drive safely regardless of the weather conditions

You will be in charge of changing over one of the chalet and you may also host in different chalets during the season

You will co-ordinate with our manager, who will oversee your duties and responsibilities

You will cover the days-off of other team members, in different properties or departments, during the season.

You will have the flexibility to work in any of the departments of the company, should the need arise

What we expect from our Driver/Handyman

  • A good sense of organisation and orientation with Google Maps and good SatNav skills
  • Hard working and reliable (especially with regards to timing)
  • A morning person who is able to be fully involved, regardless of the time of day
  • An understanding that this position is not compatible with regular partying/drinking
  • A dedication to provide an excellent quality of service, which meets our standards.
  • Good food hygiene and health & safety standards. (Hygiene training is provided.)
  • Flexibility and good organisational skills.

Selection Criteria

  • You are entitled to work in France (Valid visa or EU Citizen)
  • You are over 25 years old (for insurance purposes)
  • You have a full and clean driving licence (valid in EU)
  • You are an experienced driver

Salary and Package

  • Contract 05/12/2019 until 17/04/2020 (precise dates to be confirmed depending on snow conditions)
  • Salary of €600.00 net per month
  • End of season bonus of €100.00 per month worked, paid at the end of the contract
  • One fixed day off per week
  • One day off extra per week worked plus two days of holidays per month worked (Approx. 27 days for a full contract) to be taken during the season.
  • Good staff accommodation in shared room (single) or private room (couple)

Kitchen Team Member - Les Gets

This is the dream job for anyone whose passion for cooking is matched by their enthusiasm for learning and improving in the kitchen. Alongside a small and close-knit kitchen team, you will receive training and support from our head chef, Raphael. If you have the enthusiasm and passion to maintain the highest standards while following strict recipes, we really want to hear from you.

Introduction to the Role

You will be provided with a full week of training alongside our head chef. Your responsibilities will include cooking food for our food delivery service and for our chalet guests in our commercial kitchen (which is not a customer facing).

You will have the assistance of our head chef on a daily basis, but you will be solely responsible for the tasks that are assigned to you.

Our kitchen works in 3 different shifts. Each week you’ll spend 2 days on morning shift, 2 days on day shift and 2 days on evening shift.

  • Morning shift: You will be in charge of all of the main prep (peeling and cutting)
  • Day shift: You will be in charge of cooking all of the prepped food
  • Evening shift: You will be in charge of dessert section, prepping cakes and desserts for the following day

Job Description

Working alongside our head chef, who will oversee your duties, in our professional kitchen.

Able to provide an excellent level of food, in keeping with our standards.

Work in different sections of our kitchen, including savoury cold, savoury warm and pastry.

Each working week will consist of 6 working days. Each working day will consist of 1 shift. Per week: You will work 2 morning shifts (from 6/7am), 2 afternoon shifts and 2 evening shifts (up to 12pm/2am).

In a nutshell, you will be responsible for shopping, cooking and preparing breakfast (one special every day, plus eggs and porridge on demand) and a three course evening meal (following a recipe book on the 3 of 5 nights), baking an afternoon tea (cake or biscuit) and keeping your kitchen and storage areas compliant with health, safety and food regulations.

Chalet Management Couple - Morzine - Ski Season 2019-20

Morgan Jupe are recruiting enthusiastic and passionate people to work with us on a seasonal or permanent basis. They are expecting candidates to have an understanding of the ski tourism industry and a strong interest in their product. Candidates will place the same emphasis on customer service as they do and will not hesitate to go beyond their job description to meet guests' needs.

Morgan Jupe was started with one chalet in Morzine and one mission: to deliver market leading winter holidays, with an intense focus on gastronomic food and a unique wine list. They have been operating for five successful winter seasons in Morzine.

Job Description:

This role involves managing a single B&B chalet sleeping 10 guests. Your combined jobs will include preparation of breakfast and afternoon tea, daily housekeeping duties, weekly changeover cleaning and ensuring your guests are well cared for throughout their stay. You will also be responsible for providing a slope shuttle service for your guests each morning and afternoon. Whilst the smooth running of the chalet is your responsibility as a couple, it is crucially important that you work together with the rest of the team to ensure the efficient and professional management of your guests.

One (or both) of you will have additional responsibilities outside of the management of your chalet. These will include being part of the general driving rota for our other properties, providing cover cooking and/or preparing meals at our other properties (or your own). You can generally expect to work a long morning, followed by the afternoon off, before returning to your duties in the evening. You will have one full day and two half days off per week.

Your role will include:

  • Preparing and hosting breakfast
  • All housekeeping duties
  • Driving
  • Hosting dinner service on occasion.
  • Changeover cleaning
  • Ensuring a warm welcome to your guests on arrival and introducing them to their accommodation

Chalet Host - Morzine - Ski Season 2019-20

Gina and Marcus set up Reach4thealps in 2002 and we now have a portfolio of 7 catered and 6 self-catered properties in the Morzine & Les Gets area. Job Description:

We are looking to recruit single Chalet Hosts for smaller sister catered chalets, Chalets Chouette & Hibou (both sleep 8-10). To run these chalets there will be a team of 3, two Chalet Hosts and one Chalet Host/Driver.

The chalet hosts will work closely together sharing the cooking as we work on a set menu so it is a nice opportunity for single applicants who want to be part of a small team and also may suit friends who want to do a season together but also have a bit of space & independence in running their own chalet.

Skills and Experience Required:

It is ESSENTIAL that you have previous catering experience, whether it is professional experience, having been a Chalet Host previously or you are an accomplished home cook who has in ADDITION attended a cookery course. While we do provide a full training week on our menu and the running of a chalet, you need to already be a very competent cook. The roles require someone who gets on well with people from all walks of life, can cook to a high standard, is well organised, takes pride in doing the job properly with great attention to detail, has a lot of energy and can work as part of a team.

The Package:

Competitive monthly salary paid through the French system (in euros), all food while working, full area ski pass, ski hire for the season, uniform and a €150pp travel allowance for your return travel to Morzine. Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include all operational aspects of running a catered chalet and providing a high quality service. Skills and Experience Required:

You should ideally have at least 4 weeks ski/snowboarding experience. You will need to have experience cooking for groups of people, and ideally you have completed a cookery course.
