RESORT MANAGER - Host Savoie - Morzine

About Us:

Host Savoie is an established chalet operator with 5 properties in Morzine. For the coming season we are seeking a Resort Manager to report directly to the company directors.

Brief job description:

The Resort Manager will be responsible for maintaining our high standards of service, catering and cleanliness throughout the chalets over the whole season. You will need to manage the daily smooth running of all the chalets in resort, providing guests with a stress-free holiday of a lifetime and taking other team members under your wing to ensure that they have a great professional experience.

Requirements

  • Previous ski season experience (ideally in a relevant role)

  • A driving licence and their own transport
  • A basic level of French
  • The right to work in France under a UK contract. You will need a UK bank account and a National Insurance number.

Host Savoie is a small and friendly chalet operator that is still run by its owners in Morzine (France), and nothing but extra-mile service is good enough for our loyal guests.

We are all about hearty, honest food which fills people up nicely after a day on the slopes. If your main purpose when cooking is providing your guests with a fresh, carefully cooked meal that they will enjoy, then you are exactly what we are looking for.

Brief job description:

In a nutshell, you will be responsible for shopping, cooking and preparing breakfast (one special every day, plus eggs and porridge on demand) and a three course evening meal (following a recipe book on the 3 of 5 nights), baking an afternoon tea (cake or biscuit) and keeping your kitchen and storage areas compliant with health, safety and food regulations.

You will be in contact with our guests all the time as all our kitchens are open, therefore a strong customer service ethos is required for every member of our team. Always being willing to go the extra mile to guarantee guest satisfaction is a must.

Requirements

  • Experience in a commercial kitchen - However, a cooking qualification is not compulsory.

Chalet Host - Morzine - Ski Season 2019-20

Gina and Marcus set up Reach4thealps in 2002 and we now have a portfolio of 7 catered and 6 self-catered properties in the Morzine & Les Gets area. All the chalets are of a high standard but what ensures our repeat rate stays high is the level of customer service, high standard of catering we offer along with the help of our staff which is why we need to continue to have motivated, capable and happy staff. Our chalets are highly ranked on TripAdvisor so we need to, as a minimum keep this ranking but ideally improve on these positions every year ! As it is our own business we take great pride in looking after our guests and ensuring they have a fantastic holiday..

Job Description:

We are looking to recruit single Chalet Hosts for smaller sister catered chalets, Chalets Chouette & Hibou (both sleep 8-10). To run these chalets there will be a team of 3, two Chalet Hosts and one Chalet Host/Driver.

The chalet hosts will work closely together sharing the cooking as we work on a set menu so it is a nice opportunity for single applicants who want to be part of a small team and also may suit friends who want to do a season together but also have a bit of space & independence in running their own chalet.

Skills and Experience Required:

It is ESSENTIAL that you have previous catering experience, whether it is professional experience, having been a Chalet Host previously or you are an accomplished home cook who has in ADDITION attended a cookery course. While we do provide a full training week on our menu and the running of a chalet, you need to already be a very competent cook. The roles require someone who gets on well with people from all walks of life, can cook to a high standard, is well organised, takes pride in doing the job properly with great attention to detail, has a lot of energy and can work as part of a team.

The Package:

Competitive monthly salary paid through the French system (in euros), all food while working, full area ski pass, ski hire for the season, uniform and a €150pp travel allowance for your return travel to Morzine. There are 2 days off a week (one full day off and then a morning shift and an evening shift on different days) and 2.5 holiday/sick days per month that will be paid at the end of the season. Reach4thealps will also organise and pay for team events in the season, typically night sledging, cross country skiing and or a meal in a mountain restaurant, an important way to say thanks and to come together as a team and just have fun!

Chalet Couple (Chef/Host)-Les Gets - Ski Season 2019-20

RushAdventures is a small privately owned Chalet company in Les Gets, situated in the massive Portes du Soleil ski region in France. These positions are all based in our Chalets in Les Gets, France. We are constantly on the lookout for outstanding couples or individuals to join our company and offer the high standards that are expected by our clients. We are looking for dynamic, interesting and very motivated people with a passion for cooking, customer service and snow sports. You must be enthusiastic, very hard working and completely focused on providing the very highest of standards to our guests. Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include all operational aspects of running a catered chalet and providing a high quality service. You must ensure that our high standards, procedures and company image are maintained at all times. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the chalet and providing all meals six days per week. Meals consist of breakfast, afternoon tea, children’s high teas and a four course evening dinner (taking into account any special requirements such as vegetarian meals and food allergies). Your role includes:

  • Help to set up and close down the chalet at the start and end of the season
  • Presenting all meals in a careful and imaginative way
  • Serving, clearing away and washing up after each meal service
  • Planning and shopping for food within set budgets
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the chalet on changeover day and throughout the week
  • Ensure that excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
  • Collect guests lift passes and take guests to lessons/ski hire shop on their first day
  • Organise laundry for collection / return
  • Socialising with guests throughout their stay

Skills and Experience Required:

You need to be a well presented, fun and sociable person who is highly organised and adaptable with excellent communication, hospitality, cooking and customer service skills. You should ideally have at least 4 weeks ski/snowboarding experience. You will need to have experience cooking for groups of people, and ideally you have completed a cookery course.
